Google API Application Privacy Policy

This policy describes how our internal Google Ads management application accesses and handles data. It is specific to that application. For the privacy policy covering our websites and customers, see our main website privacy policy.

Who we are

Southern California Motorcycles, 515 W Lambert Rd, Brea, CA 92821. Contact: luke.socalmoto@gmail.com, 714-256-6700.

What the application does

It is internal software used by our employees to manage our own Google Ads advertising account. It is not offered to the public and has no users outside our business. See About this application.

What Google user data we access

The application authenticates with a single Google account owned by our business, using OAuth 2.0, and requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords scope. Through that scope it reads and writes data in our own Google Ads account only:

  • Campaign, ad group, keyword and search-term performance data — impressions, clicks, cost, conversions
  • Ad copy and ad assets such as sitelinks, callouts and images
  • Campaign settings — budgets, bidding strategies, targeting and schedules
  • Conversion action configuration

We do not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or any other Google user data through this application. We do not access any Google account belonging to a customer or member of the public.

How we use it

Solely to report on and manage our own advertising. Specifically: producing internal performance reports, deciding how to allocate our own advertising budget, and applying owner-approved changes to our own campaigns.

How we store and protect it

Reports and extracted data are stored locally on company-controlled computers and in a private source-control repository accessible only to our employees. OAuth credentials are stored in local environment configuration files, are never committed to source control, and are never shared outside the business. Data is retained only as long as it is useful for performance review and is deleted when no longer needed.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade any data obtained through the Google Ads API.
  • We do not share it with third parties, advertising networks, data brokers, or affiliates.
  • We do not use it to build advertising profiles of individuals.
  • We do not transfer it to any party other than Google and ourselves.
  • We do not use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Third-party software

Alongside our own software we use mcp-gads, an open-source Google Ads client that runs locally on our own computers and issues read-only queries against our own account. It transmits no data to its author or to any third party.

Limited Use

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access and deleting data

Because the application uses a Google account owned by our business, access can be revoked at any time from that account's third-party app permissions page. On revocation we delete the stored credentials and any data no longer required.

Changes and contact
